December 20th, 2007 Up Your Xmas!
Seasons Greetings!!
As a special thank you to everyone that’s supported us over the past year, we’d like to offer you our new album “Cum on Feel the Shortbus” as a free download!
Stop crying. It’s not that big of a deal.
Anyway, between now and midnight on Saturday, go to http://www.theskullcranes.com/redeem/upyourxmas/; you have to register before you can hug it, squeeze it, and call it George.
Those of you who have purchased the album already, THANK YOU, and remember that karma works. Those who want a physical CD, either come to a show, or send us $10 and we’ll mail you one sometime when we get around to it. Cheers!
hey there mister hindu, merry fucking xmas!

Congrats on registering. Once you’re logged in, go to:

The code is ‘upyourxmas’, but it should be filled in already for you. Just press the ‘Redeem Code’ button.

Great offer. I logged in and downloaded the zip files of the 2 cds. I cant get either one to extract the files though. Ive tried on 2 different computers, each time getting that “Windows has blocked access to these files to help protect your computer” message.
Anyone else reporting problems once they’ve downloaded the 50+ MB zip ?

That’s your windows firewall(s) trying to protect you from yourself. This isn’t unique to Skullcranes downloads, it’ll stop you from opening most files you download from the web.
You need to (depending on your firewall software) go to the Properties of the zip file (right-click on the zip file and choose “Properties”) and tell windows to allow you to open the file. Different anti-virus/firewall software have different methods to allow access to downloaded files, so check your particular anti-virus/firewall documentation for more specific info, but most put the option under “Properties.” Also note that if you have more than one firewall running (e.g. Norton and the built-in windows firewall) this can cause additional problems. Only run one firewall or else they will get confused and prevent each other from allowing access to downloaded files.

I use a mac so I don’t encounter these kinds of problems

That being said, the download system has been successfully tested on a number of different systems including windows XP, windows vista, macosx, solaris, and various flavors of linux.
