Twin Cities area punk band The Skullcranes announces the release date of their new album, Columbia Heights Nights, on Crustacean Records for Tuesday May 12th. The self proclaimed kings of “trailer park punk” The Skullcranes formed in the northern Minneapolis suburb of Columbia Heights back in 2000 and have been celebrating their blue collar and mildly self destructive roots ever since. Columbia Heights Nights is The Skullcranes fourth album and debut on Madison, Wisconsin label Crustacean Records.

Columbia Heights Nights follows in the vein of the previous releases with irresistible punk rock and roll anthems. Somehow melding together country, 70’s
classic rock and early 80’s East coast punk with a sprinkle of Auto Trader magazine, The Skullcranes are sure to make you want to dig out that muscle tee we all know you have tucked away in your closet. Columbia Heights Nights takes you on a ride in a huge gas guzzling pick up, drops you off at a bar where there is Belgian beer on special then slaps you around before leaving you at a giant house party in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis.

We made plans for you local folks (Minneapolis) on the weekend of May 15th and 16th. On the 12th our record “Columbia Heights Nights” will be officially released to the public. So, to celebrate this we are hosting a happy hour at The Bulldog Uptown. This will run from 7 till 10, there will be drink specials, the new record will be spinning for 3 hours over the system, the new record will be there for sale and most importantly, we will be there so you can pat us on the back and tell us we are cool.
So, now you have the new record and have listened to it a million times. You love it. You can’t get enough of it. You wish you could eat it. You start sweating. You love the songs so much you start getting jealous and suspicious of your closest friends. The world smells better. All of a sudden, you can drink a beer like a god damn champion. You are prettier. You need more. More.

The following evening, May 16th, we are having our C.D. Release party at the new improved Club Underground. Since you only stayed out the previous evening until 10, this should be no problem for you. You know and love all the songs because you bought the record the night before now go see if they remember how to play them.

First of all, thanks to all of you in Oshkosh and Madison who came out to see us while and resisting the urge to throw piss soaked sneakers at us. Those of you who bought shit from us…..Double Thanks.
Oshkosh was awesome as always and I think we played well, now lets talk about Madison. Let me start out by saying sorry to Madison and the good folks at The High Noon Saloon. Please accept our apology for taking a giant shit on your stage. We are good for a real stinker every 5 or 6 shows and unfortunatley your number came up. We felt pretty bad about it that night but, I think if we talk about it and work through this with assistance from a self help audio cassette series we can get through this together,on both an emotional and spiritual level.
So other than that, we played some Tiger Woods golf on the PS2 as well as some Tekken. We had Thai food one night. Gas is much cheaper but the brakes in the van went out. Fuck.

So, we made halloween plans for you. We are playing at The Bulldog in Northeast Minneapolis Friday October 31st. You’re welcome again. This is a chance for all of you dudes to dress slutty. I know we will be. Dressing slutty I mean.

Also, October 10th in Oshkosh (one word, thanks Brad from Droids Attack, no need for name calling) with Droids Attack. October 11th we will be in Madison WI at The High Noon Saloon.

We have some other shows in the works so check back often so you don’t miss the rock.

In other news, The Skullcranes have been working on a new record. We will be recording sometime in the next 4 months and hope to have a new record for you before the spring. The 5 songs we have cooking so far kick so much ass that we are all very optimistic that they will be used in treating S.T.D’s such as clamidia.
